Sony PRS-T1 (eReader) + Ubuntu 11.10.
Mounts easily and quickly. The only quirks being that it shows two drives (reader and settings) and you need to switch the reader on before you plug in the USB.
Adobe Digital Editions installs via Wine without any bother. With no trouble buying or downloading DRM'd epubs with Digital Editions and Firefox. However, Digital Editions won't recognise the reader. So you'll need to install Calibre and configure it to add books automatically from the My Digital Editions folder. See Preferences / Adding Books / Automatic adding.
Calibre has no trouble recognising the PRS-T1 - assuming you've selected Sony as the default e-reader during the Calibre set-up - and managing the sending / removing of the content is very simple.
I had two wee and easily solved database corruptions when I just unplugged, so it's probably better to always eject / unmount using the option in Calibre's Devices.
Of course, before doing any of the above you'll need to get an Adobe account and register the reader via a Windows machine - upon which you'll need to install Adobe Digital Editions or the Sony Reader for PC software. Though it maybe possible to register the reader directly via a Wi-Fi connection to the Sony Reader store. The (UK) store wasn't open when I got my T1 so I can't say if this will work or not.
Don't bother with the Sony Reader software on Linux. While it installs easily using Wine it's just a bit rubbish. Stick with the combination of Adobe and Calibre.
Hope this has been of some use.
