Business model desktop PC, Pentium 4 2.4GHz, increased to 1.25GB memory. Switched to Ubuntu on this machine when the original 40gb HDD failed. Installed a 20gb drive and loaded Ubuntu 9.04. Using on-board graphics and sound. Graphics function OK; sound did not work. Had to add a sound card to get any sound at all. Tested good on 9.04 for all except sound.
On 9.10 and 10.04 experienced video issues. Computer used on-board Intel i845 Brookdale GPU and in Lucid support for these chipsets was minimal. They are currently doing testing on possible fixes but there is very little interest being shown, so it is possible they will completely drop support for the i8xx chipesets. When reverted back to 9.04, video functioned fine.
This is an older machine, so I doubt anyone will be buying one. If you have one, and are thinking about putting Ubuntu on it, I'd stick with 9.04 or older.
