It needs a restricted driver, but everything works just fine.

I'm currently using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon), but since 6.06 (Dapper Drake), the IPW3945 has worked perfectly. Of course there's no WPA with the Networking thing in System > Administration, but that's because that program doesn't support it. Using NetworkManager, it works perfectly, even with WPA. Back during the Dapper days, there was no restricted driver manager, it just worked fine without telling you how. Since Feisty, it shows in the restricted driver manager, but you don't have to do anything to make it work.
With Debian, 2 packages (firmware and daemon, I think) have to be installed, and then it works fine (this was with Etch).
